I have rev counter issue !!
On occasion my rev counter starts to dance about on its own.
I have almost isolated the issue but I am after pointers / advice from those who have previous experience with this problem.
I noticed that when the rev counter starts to dance about if I press on the plastic facia panel under the steering wheel ( panel with alarm sensor attached on back of it ) then the rev counter starts working perfectly again.
I have just been for a 20 minute drive. rev counter started dancing. So I unscrewed the facial panel and let it hang low whilst I went on a 40 min drive, during which the rev counter then behaved perfectly and without any issue at all.
Clearly the alarm sensor is pressing on an instrument cluster wire ( loom ) and causing the issue, but I am now trying to work out best possible way of resolving and identifying the wire responsible so that I can repair and prevent further issues..
Has anyone else had this issue ?
TIA
