Looks like a cut and shut of a Fiat Coupe and a 5 series with z4 wing mirrors

I prefer the new Z4 to be honest

Hi, don't know, just found this picture on a site with pictures of the new series 1 as well. Looks like some of the new crop of bmw's will be FWD.

If it's a goer it looks good and the theme continues and Zorg will have new members to join. Happy days.

That's a brave step in direction.

I bloody hope not, but if they're collaborating with another manufacturer it is quite possible.:(:(

New 1 series to be front wheel drive, does that mean my 1 series could be a future classic.
Current 2 series grand tourer front wheel drive so this would probably be the base for the new 1 series

Current 2 series grand tourer uses mini platform new 1 series to share platform with new mini so probably inevitable that more of the smaller bmw range will end up fwd.

BMW must be one of the last main stream manufacturers that has resisted fwd. I personally love driving rwd cars as you feel more involved. A very different feeling driving the daily hack...Mazda CX-5

It's a good job we all like different things or we would all be driving around in the same cars.
I hope the Z2 does happen as BMW don't have a dedicated 2 seater cabriolet in there current range.
I can see why this picture causes a decided opinion.
