*Little bit of self-promo here*

Last winter I 'helped' a friend work on his TVR Cerbera as he'd blown a head gasket. I was there more to learn and hand over wrenches. We got to the stage where the heads were sent off for some work and they've only just come back. I filmed the work we did and am now 'releasing' it as a short series. Nothing special, not a how-to guide by any means, just really enjoyed the opportunity to work on the car:D

Hope you enjoy it!

Edit: I posted the wrong link originally

Wow, very cool video Lee! TVRs in general pretty rare over here, and I never heard of the Cerbera. I'm guessing they were never sent over to this side of the pond. It looks like an interesting Grand Touring machne.

Yeah I think you got the TVR Chimera in America but not the Cerbera. The Cerb was a V8 and very noisy aswell as smelly. I think your emission laws banned it not sure how it works now they're all reaching 20 years old.

I have seen a few older TVRs, but never a Chimera either, at auto shows. US EPA regs state that the vehicle can be exempted from US emissions if 21 years or more since production date. Of course there are also DOT laws about window glass, headlamps, taillamps and side markers that also must be met... :banghead:

But generally, a lot of cool JDM and Euro cars are over 21 years old nowadays... Hmmm... :D

Next video is up for those interested!

While the car was up on stands, Paul wanted to get the front diff brackets off to replace the worn bushes. Pretty sure we used every tool available to do this

Okay so there is way more footage than I thought and everything Paul says makes sense is is helpful to know so this series has many more parts than I thought!

Part 3: Dropping the car, raising the engine. Working in an underground car park, with no engine crane or a car lift the only other option is to lift the car, put a table under the engine, remove everything attached to the engine and then lower the car! So far the gearbox has been removed so the rest has to come off.
