You'd think it would be a simple question. But No. Every site I go to wants me to give my car make and model and then only lists wheels known to fit that make model.

What I want is a site where I can key in the size, width, ET, Centre bore, PCD etc and then to show me wheels that meet those criteria.

Anyone know such a site?

In other words I have a Z3 but do not have a Z3 body or standard Z3 suspension so I don't want a site to tell me what wheels will or won't foul the body or the suspension.

To the best of my knowledge only Image remain as a UK manufacturer. They’ll make them to pretty much any spec you like. They’re super helpful too.
If it’s steel wheels, your best bet is one of the BMW wheel cataloguing sites then eBay.
Also if it’s steel wheels, one of the ‘banding’ specialists could also make the narrower if required. Sorry, no experience with those.

What style of wheels are you after? Any inspiration wheels you have seen that you like the look of?

Driftworks have a large stock where you can filter by your own parameters.

Think Style 36 Pepper Pot - but 17" instead of 15"
And an ET that brings the rim out around 1.5cm. Alloy or steel.

Z3 2.8 real widebody
Summit racing in the States has a good search function. If you do find a wheel you like you then can look for whoelse supplies them wherever you live.

Dust off your wallet…

Alas not available in bmw pcd in 17.

What you are looking for is very specific and would suggest hard to find. Pepper pot styles are the domain of OEM wheels and aftermarket wheels are more ‘sport’ inspired.

Have you considered getting some banded steels made up? I think @IainP has a good suggestion if the pepper pot style is what you are after.

I use the term 'Pepper Pot' quite loosely. Something like this would do it if it was 17"

There's dozens like that but just can't find the combination I want. So I asked that ebay seller if he has anything

BMW X1 has a similar wheel but it's 7.5" I don't really want to go wider than 7.0 I reckon 6.5 with tall tyres would look good.

That driftworks dot com site is good though. Ability to search by required criteria rather than just by car make mode. But alas that wheel is not available with the PCD

How about…

Yup. Those X1 wheels would be the nearest. But 7.5 I'd prefer 7

I assume these are the x1 wheels you had seen.

Half inch isn’t much…
Yes. They are the ones I've seen and half inch isn't that much but I don't want wider tyres and 7.5inch wheels don't really go with narrower tyres

The reason for the ET34 is that I want to push the whole wheel out. Partly to better fill the wheel arches but also to move the tyre away from the strut. I want to fit a taller tyre to fill the gap all round but that brings the top of tyre close to the strut.

Lowering the car will reduce the gap at the top of the wheel arch but the gap in front and behind the tyre will still be humongous.

Top picture is what I've currently got. 16" wheels with 205/55
The bottom picture is a mock up. photo chop job. made to look like 17" with 205/60 This reduces the arch gap all round by around an inch and causes a 6.5% speed error because of the bigger rolling radius. But my speedo is >6% out anyway so will ctually be more accurate - and, I think, look better.

Thank you IainP for that link to Imagewheels.

Anyone want to buy me a set of these - I won't say what they cost . . OK I will. +3K a set. Imagine if I bought them and kerb'd one I'd be in tears at the side of the road.

Finding a used set of steels and sending them to the bander is an idea though. But the X1 wheels is my 'plan B'

Can I assume that the centre hole of the X1 wheels will be same as Z3 ?
