What exactly is low mileage?

A few more Zeds available on Pistonheads this week with one, a 97 model, being sold as LOW MILEAGE having done just 98000 miles :-\

Another 98 car has low mileage of just 27,000 and a third is a 97 with low mileage of 66,000 miles...

The final offering is a 2001 model with 55k on the clock........

A low mileage car is any that has done less than 8000 per anum or that is how it used to be. So a 10yr old car with less than 80000 is low mileage.

The 8000 miles guide is true as a general rule but for certain cars you have to adjust it, eg a 5 series diesels generally are much higher and convertables are generally much lower as most are used as second cars.

For me average mileage for a Z3 would be 5,000 miles per annum so anything less than c50,000 would be low mileage.
