its still the same, but the first 4 digits are suposed to be separated from the last three on almost all plates, there is a minimum distance, do you think anyone will notice:nailbiting: it would be an mot fail but i dont need one of those for 11 months

why would i do that=)) yes ok some people do in order to take advantage of personalized plates but mine is a normal plate, my original was smashed and everytime the car goes for its mot i get an advisory for it. though i would save some pennies by ordering it through ebay (yes it was £30 cheaper than halfords) but because i forgot the space they haven't put the bs or makers mark on it either.

If you bought them off eBay you can send them back. If they don't know how to make road legal plates it's their hard luck.

Tony.

didnt realize there was even a space there, never really noticed, it was the fact it has not got the mandatory marking on it i noticed (after carefully reading the small print in the listing).:banghead: it states that if i dont include the space then they wont add the bs marks

I've found the cheapest way to get a private number plate is to change your name by deed poll to that of your number plate.
My name now is T903KGC

That's a fair point Tony, they could and should have checked with you really before making them.

whats worse is after i removed the broken original it fell apart so i have no choice other than use them and be dammed or go over to halfords and buy a rip off set, which in the long run would be cheaper than a fine for having illegal plates, i will go and take a picy.

I've been getting an advisory for the plate on the LR for a few years where I've had the MOTs done - the numbers/charcaters are a little faded but readable. This year, it was done somewhere else and no advisory.
I thought it was a legal requirement to put the name and postcode of where the plates were made. That and making it the buyers responsibility to understand the legal requirements as far as spacing are concerned seems a little weak. Also thought they needed to see your V5 document too.

I would take a chance on them, it's not too obvious, is it?

not really no. been thinking, (yes i know thinking is dangerous) but if i buy another set - legal set from the same seller it would still be £20 cheaper than halfords
