As we know the "Power to Weight Ratio" is just a fact of science...

So this morning I was thinking what could be removed from our ZED's to reduce the weight but not make the car unbearable to drive...

When I raced on bikes I was always thinking of ways to make the thing lighter! Now where's my saw, file and drill - hehe

It would be cheaper and easier if I lost a couple of stones

Pull everything out of your boot, tool kit, liners, get a smaller battery, put a smaller lighter exhaust in, remove your soft top completely, just go topless no matter what. Ditch A/C and anything optional you don't need them anyway. Put in an aluminium rad. Remove all electric motors from windows, seats, hood. And I'm sure you don't need carpets now, they'll just hold water due to lack of top. Well you get the idea or buy an ///M. JIM

Take the two cwt bags of cement out the boot which my father told me is the best way to stop a tail happy empty van, didn't say it wouldn't work for a Z3 though.:meh:

Dad was wrong. Weight in the back of a tail happy vehicle just adds more weight to the pendulum. Just ask a 911 driver.

Just ask a 911 driver.
All depends on whether it's front or rear wheel drive. And depends if the vehicle is "tail happy" through too much weight OR not enough. In the case of a 911 or even a Simca 1000 I would agree, in the case of an empty Escort van I wouldn't.

I agree, not so in an Escort van, which Roy quoted in his post, in which his Dad had the 2 bags of cement. I'm guessing that @Shiro_se hasn't had the joy of driving an Ekky van?;)
