3 hours of polishing followed with a coat of dodo juice purple haze:

I find just slapping it on then buffing off with a damp microfibre really works a treat, somewhat akin to the old spit polish. Blow is before polish but 3 coats of the same wax.

it gives a much better shine after 2-3 coats and does go dull fairly quickly but i do wash it every week. I usually re-wax every other wash and that seems to keep it nice and shiny.

EDIT: thoes pictures are suppost to be forum size friendly but look massive on my side, anyone else having trouble viewing them?

I'm a huge fan of Dodo Juice products - I have the following ...

  • BASICS OF BLING WAX SAFE SHAMPOO
    LIME PRIME
    ORANGE CRUSH SOFT WAX
    MELLOW YELLOW WHEEL CLEANER
    TYROMANIA
    DETAILING SPRAY

Searching the Dodo Juice website, I found a supplier at the the other end of town Washshop - handy, as I can collect from him and save postage :)

Hi Swamper. to be honest its the easiest to put on and take off and leaves no white resin bits like some of them do. I also use meguiars Quick detailer which is also amazing it takes dust off and saves washing and drying the car between waxing. Tried it all but sticking with this brand ;)

Yes like Paul said quick detailer is the best thing since sliced bread!! You'll find yourself detailing your M M most mornings and evenings after a drive.. Saves washing it..
Since I've had my M in November I've only washed it once with water. rest of the time it's been quick detailed

I believe Zymol is the best carnuba wax but it is so expensive. They do a Vintage Bentley special at over £2000 a tub!!!!!!

And if I had a vintage Bentley I could probably afford a tub :-^

I've been very pleased with the results of Meguiars 3 stage (cleaner, polish and wax)
The Stage 3 is a very nice smelling carnauba wax that is nice and easy to use and beads for ages.
I normally do the 3 stage once a year and then add another coat of wax every 3/4 months.

I get comments from people about my Triumph ( have never waxed the Z yet as i have only just got it)

but they say what do you use ?

and they are so surprised that i don't use any fancy waxes or clay, just good old elbow grease and a very light t-cut

and autoglym super reason polish with high gloss on top

it comes up great every time, always getting the comment of when was it resprayed with the surprising answer "never"

this is a photo of it at the NEC Birmingham

Thank you swamper a lot of hard work has gone into it.

I have tried lots of wax, polish, cheep and expensive well known and not so well known, but I always come back to Autoglym

raisin polish with the high gloss on top, although I would call it a show room polish not as long lasting as some

I have some good tips for cleaning cars that can save money.

Like all the black plastic, use liquid black shoe polish (the one with the wee sponge)

then once dry and buffed spray sewing machine lubricant over it.(it is very cheep it is just a silicon spray)

also your back plastic window to get it clear just use t-cut then use the Autoglym raisin polish( comes up great)

I have lots more ... ;)
