Saw this on a Z3 FB page, useful for some. I believe @Sean d has mentioned it. This chap had wet carpets and could hear water sloshing about when driving. Found the issue and fixed in 1hr. Result.

Worth checking if only to clean, quick and simple job

Yes mate, I thought the above might be the route cause of a lot of wet carpets as its a common design in many cars
