You had better luck this morning Pete than we did yesterday. :)
Brilliant picture! ^:)^
They used to stationed down at RAF Marham, you could see them all waiting to take off as you drove along the road. :-bd

The last time I saw XH558 was last year in the Dales near our campsite in Malham. It was on its way to Douglas IOM for the races flypast. Before that, saw them scattered around on their dispersal pads at RAF Akrotiri Cyprus. An amazing piece of Cold War engineering.Did anyone else see the Concorde test bed one with an Olympus engine fitted under the bomb bay.Its party piece at air shows was to throttle back its own engines and open up the one ConcordeOlympus, what a noise, even better than a 6 pot Zed.

It flew over my house that day, on it's way to the veterans parade at Cosford. Those Olympus engines always makes the hairs on my back stand to attention.

A bit of trivia here, at high altitude a Vulcan bomber can out turn an F16 Fighting Falcon.

Yum yum aircraft but one hell of a black hole to keep flying.

The Vulcan group spends its whole existence on the edge of folding. I used to be a member but gave up in the end due to the amount of fund raising e-mails I'd send cash to.

If only things like this were paid out of our taxes. Mind you, I'd like to see a Lightening and Phantom up there too !

They had an English Electric Lightening at RAF Coningsby on Sat, :ymapplause: I didn't think that I would see one on an RAF base, albeit the home of the BBMF.

Does anyone know if it is still operational? :-?

Thats a great photo, saw one like this on the news only a couple of weeks ago, makes you wonder how the heck they get off the ground without giving another one a piggy back :-o
