Need to buy a new telly unfortunatelly 32ins is no longer big enough,saw one of those curved screens they say you can sit closer and you feel part of the action, not sure id want to be in my bondage film collection but then I saw the price so that's out anyway.How big should it be? Do I need 3d? Is that bigger than double d?when I'm smart that usually means I wear a tie and a jacket, I take it this is not the same for tellys?

I have an LG 50" Plasma Full 1080P HD TV, with every connector know to man on the back of it. Was £700 at the time, but they have dropped right down in price now.

Also had a matching surround sound system, but couldn't use it that often because it pee'd my neighbour off when I was playing on the XBOX. The sound was bloody epic though in some games...

Personally having a plasma TV, I'd go LCD next time. The plasma I got was cheaper than the equivalent LCD model at the time which was the deciding factor for me.

As it gets used a lot for gaming the plasma burn is quite bad on mine. Also those stupid logos TV channels have to have in the upper left corner has caused a bit too.

Av is a hobby of mine.

I still prefer the plasma screens over led.

I've had no screen burn with my panasonic.

I'd go for a panasonic everytime (led or plasma)

3d was a gimmick that has faded out unless you watch Sky Sports (football).

Also I would never purchase anything from currys.

p*** poor customer service and you pay for extended warranties.

Go to John Lewis where the service is better and they give a 5 year warranty as standard.

Ps the latest thing to consider is 4k2k or ultra hd.

It's worth future proofing if you keep your tv for a while.

50 inch screen plus I reccomend.

It's down to personal choice but don't always be driven by price.

The source and cables you use make a vast difference.

As does people's eyesight!

It's the old "my car is immaculate statement".

We bought a 43" Panasonic Plasma a couple of years ago, which we feel is good for a viewing distance of 12 to 15 feet. The greater the distance the bigger screen (sorry if that is stating the obvious). On some LCD screens (including Panasonic) I have found the pixels to be noticeable on fast moving objects. A lot of people cannot see it but I find it distracting. It would probably not be a problem with a 100Hz screen (probably much cheaper now than when we bought), but the plasma runs at 600Hz so there is no chance of me noticing it.

I agree with Badman Gee that future-proofing is a good idea and Panasonic is a good brand. The clever bit is try to find the right balance between what you might use and what is the latest and expensive fad that will be useless in 12 months time, Happy hunting.

It's down to reaction time, plasmas are excellent for higher speed motion. Organic led is the way forward but it's expensive. The older LCD reaction time is slower. Led tv's are mostly led back lit but still LCD panels. Oled is not.

Pioneer used to make the best panels but they stopped production a couple of years ago.

There engineers now work for panasonic.

Thanks for all the advice but it's a little too late went to Currys ,it would of been 2 hours to find a john Lewis ,bought a Samsung ue55f6670 it's big gonna have to move the goldfish,haven't got it out of the box yet as we went for a spin in the Z instead

I like the Z, it's got a curved screen. It's a bugger to put stickers on tho.

There is no point in going for all super duper kit unless you have a fiber optic connection in your house as they do in the new builds over here.
