All,

For anyone interested in turning their Zed into something more restomod. Here are some pics I have nicked off the FB feed of the maker of an Aston-like zag-like kit.

I hear a few on order and being built currently. This is the first completed one done for a very nice chap who helped in the development and design. All chassis , windows , doors are Zed so this only needs an MOT and not the dreaded IVA.

I like it. Not all will though

Would be nice to see how they’ve done the boot.

That's the best looking special I have seen based on a Z3. It actually looks if that is how it has always been, good from all angles. Shame I don't have a zed now!

A very nice kit. But I think most including this one are let down by the limited attempts/possibilities to disguise the shape of the door. It kinda still screams Z3 there.

I do like it but normally the good kits are quite expensive especially if you need someone to build it for you.
If you had the choice would you have a kit car or a low mileage mint Z3M?

Another one has been built by someone already (paint must be still wet as they are so knew).

That has a pic of the boot details as built. This kit uses the Zed stock hinges. It’s a big old boot although an awkward shape. Soft bags rather than hard shell suitcases are the luggage of choice I guess.

Cheers Dave, that looks not too bad. As you say, a large space.

Tony.

The temptation to make the boot larger is there - but don't do it, or the rear of the car will need to be completely redesigned and an IVA would be needed.
