Well maybe not quite, but I hope to be at the top of the observation wheel on I-drive tomorrow. We're hoping the queues have subsided a little after the opening on Monday this week. 400 ft up should offer some great photo opportunities I hope.

Will let you know.

Shirley isn't overly keen tbh but I reminded her that she enjoyed a helicopter flight over the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas and this thing turns at 3 revolutions per hour!

Anyway, we went this morning and dueley bought our tickets. $25 each for the "Eye" , Madam Tussauds and the Sea life Aquarium. Or $49 for all 3 "The more you see, the more you save" said the poster.
The line for the Eye wasn't very long and soon we were told that the ride is stopped ! It didn't stop them selling us a ticket though, did it? Anyway we visited the other 2 attractions, had a bite to eat but it was still out of action. They stamped the ticket so we can return any time in the next 30 days, we may be late home;)
At least we bumped into some old friends to chat with though ......
image.jpg

My old mate Becks, nice to see him there.:)
Then there was this guy who works down our chip shop, says his name is Elvis !!
image.jpg

Then there was this other gobby kid who wouldn't shut up so I had the teach him a lesson. (You may have to excuse the photographer):D

However, we will be going back at some point, either to get on the thing (fingers crossed) or to get our money back and go in September. I really want to go on this time though.

Anyway, you still didn't tell me what the 'eye' was. Frankie at work.
Sorry Frankie, I missed this, the EYE is the observation wheel built on International Drive in Orlando over the last couple of years. Picture at the top of the post.

So, we went back this afternoon to ride the Eye, the multi storey car park was very busy, and when we got inside the building the line was l....o....n....g. We had forgotten today was Mother's Day over here, what with that and people who didn't get on yesterday coming back today ( like us ) it was going to be a long wait.
It opens in the morning at 10.00 am, we will be there then in the hope that, unless people have camped out overnight, the line shouldn't be that long.

So here we are, day three, and finally we rode the EYE !! The plan worked well and to be totally honest the roads were quiet all round, it's Memorial Day here today so maybe that's why. As usual were running out of days now towards the end of our holiday.:( If you plan to come and see the eye, come early, here's a few pictures.:)

On the way up!

The road along side is Universal Boulevard.

That's a pretty big shadow!

Shirley overcame her fear to go on with me bless her. Afterwards she said it was good. It didn't seem at all like the twenty minutes that they quote, it went very quickly. But like I hoped some great views from up there.

Tony.

ps. This wheel is 400ft to the top, the London Eye is 450ft and the pods carry twice as many people too!
