@littlefeller Jason, you will need to get the calliper and calliper carriers from an e46 325. You need the 300 mm discs. With some help from @Brian H regarding brake balancing do not go bigger as the pistons will unbalance front to rear.

As a few on here will tell you, the front brake upgrade makes an amazing difference. If you speak with Nick Jupp German Car Parts Kent on google and mention the forum and myself, he is a very helpful breaker of e36's and e46's. I did the upgrade on my 2.2 and it's great. The zedshed has done a few upgrades to forum members zeds too regarding this ok.

Done the 300mm upgrade on mine, made a big difference and now even better with the new pads and discs I've just fitted.

The ones you are on about (286mm) are the ones fitted to all 6 cylinder Z3's (except 3.0) and will be an upgrade from solid to vented discs so you should see a difference. @gookah did it to his 1.9 also, think he may have even just needed the carriers and not calipers as well.

Like I said, bolts them on and see what happens. They either will fit or not, you have nothing to lose!

i swapped my pads a couple of weeks ago, there defo is not the room to fit the 22mm disk in the calipers i have now unless i used half worn pads, with new pads fitted and piston wound all the way back in they only just go back on. what do people do at the rear?

Mine are standard at the rear, seems to be a good balance. If you start upgrading the rears it will throw the balance out. I wouldn't mind vented discs on the back though, weird that the E36 has vented rears and the Z3 doesn't.

i suppose the zed cant carry 4 + people maybe, or bmw were just getting rid of old stock or just stingy.
