Hi all

I've been looking at getting a bigger size alloy on my beautiful little zed but I didn't want to deviate from the original alloys. The original alloys are the traditional 16" star shaped (attached photo).

The gills (as I like to call them) are chrome and I am going to get chrome door handles fitted so was debating whether to get the original alloys refurbed and finished as chrome...

What do you guys think? I want to keep the car very much "traditional" as it is beautiful as it is with its wide-body but also want to make small cosmetic tweaks.

Thanks in advance

Your other option and much more modern is to get them stripped and polished
Thanks Sean. I’m going to look into all options before I jump into anything. I like the look of the chromes as it’s a bit old school but happy looking into other options too

My personal taste would not include chrome wheels, too American and dated, but its your car, what you would like is the way to go

I’m not 100% sure at the moment, I like them but need to really think about it hence asking the experts!

I need to see a Zed with them on in the flesh as I’ve only seen photos at the moment

For what it’s worth, I feel that chrome works when the grille surround, gills, windscreen and door handles are consistently the same.

Even with all the above, chrome wheels for me are a bit too much, I’d go as far to say “tacky” - sorry if that offends. At the end of the day it’s personal taste. No one is right or wrong!

Hiya

No offence taken - just looking for honest feedback :)

Need to have a good look at some cars with them on I think!

I like a certain amount of chrome but I think wheels is a step too far. I am not even sure about the side gills, I keep changing mine from the original chrome to black and back again.

I love my chrome gills - just so undecided about the wheels!
