Here was a first for me this evening, after leaving the madhouse I was queuing on the A57 at the A46 roundabout and lo and behold round the island comes an Ariel Atom. Never seen one before! Got it on my dash cam so will try to find it.

These such cars insanely fast with there high power to weight ratio. A bloke I did some work for had an Arial Atom and I'm amazed he didn't wrap it round a tree ! He offered to take me out in it but I politely declined keeping in mind my fragile back......I think I would of have to of been cut out of it if i managed to fold myself into it =)).

I've seen one or two, not a car that takes my fancy but I can see the attraction. Seems to me the driver and passenger must feel really exposed on the road. Caterhams 7s are bad enough, as they are so small and so low, it's like driving a rollerskate. Ariel Atoms take that feeling to a new degree. I much prefer the creature comforts of the Zed.

My lad bought me drive experiance in one of these, very nimble, but could have done with a few more laps + the instructor was "conservative" but he did let me get a drift on the last lap :)

Had some pax rides in one a couple of years ago, ex Lotus owner bought one for some fun. Insanely great fun if dry but I don't fancy wearing a helmet all the time which was recommended. Might as well ride a bike.
Also prefer the look of the KTM. Total track toys really and mine felt sloppy and slow after riding in the Atom.
