A cruise to the Cotswold and I found my self in Bourton on the Water so I popped into the Cotswold Motor Museum only a small place but there I found a little treasure and I so wanted to take her out in the sun.

I fell in love with that little BMW 327

BMW 327 1938
Formed in 1916 BMW built aircraft engines. The design of their famous badge is based on the rotating blades of an aeroplane, which are painted blue and white, the state colours of Bavaria. Car manufacturing started when BMW bought the Dixi Motor Company, which had a licence to build the Austin Seven. From 1928 it was badged as the BMW 3/15. In 1937 BMW needed an elegant sports tourer to fill the gap between the competition bred 328 roadster and more sedate 326 models. Engineered by Fritz Fielder the 327 was a combination of existing BMWs. The 326 donated steering, brakes, wheels and a 55bhp 2-litre six cylinder engine, whilst the rear suspension and gearbox came from the 328.

It might seem strange but although I like to go and see the cars in motoring museums, I also hate them. For me all those cars could be in the hands of enthusiasts out on the road, more people would get to see them and enjoy them.

That's a very valid point Mike, the only worry maybe, is would they be maintained and kept running or become garage queens elsewhere.

Tony.

There is a possibility that they won't be seen at all!

Yep, I guess there are a lot of garage queens about, whilst most owners love there cars and dream of driving them in nice weather, not many leave the garage. That's a shame really as vehicles are made for the road, that's what I love about Zeds and there owners, a hint of good weather and we're out there enjoying it.

That's making me hope that the fair weather will last for while after we get back home Mike. I'm really missing my Z this time. We're going to change the car on Friday evening for something a bit more familiar, just not a Z unfortunately.

Tony.

ps. Hope the house is coming on nicely.:)
