Gosh, that You Tube film brought back memories....not that I am pictured...I'm not quite 'that' old! s:rolleyes
I worked at the Ford Plant in Dagenham and as a young 2nd year apprentice was given the task with a couple of other spotty youths to build the simple Press tools to make the parts of a link chain to be part of a scale model of Henry Fords first vechile called a Quadricycle, originally built in 1898. S:e
The model was to be presented to Henry Ford 2nd on the 70th anniversary of the Quadricycle.
Much angst and perspiration was generated from us lads driven on by our Ford Instructors as Apprentice Schools throughout the land and beyond played a part in coming up with all the parts and then final assembly I know not where.
It was reported that the model was completed and presented to Henry 2 in 1968 :ymapplause: and is no doubt sitting in some board room somewhere in the USA. I still have short sections of the chain (like a timing chain but a good deal smaller) to remind me of the event....no doubt someone got thanked with a bonus and a good lunch....but it wasn't us lads...but hey ho, that's life. :ymdaydream:
Just thought I'd mention it
