Well it was due before the31st of May and it was a bit quiet at work this afternoon, a good time to M.O.T. my car.
Open wide all areas.

And while I was under there I had a look around to see what needs adding to the "To do" list.
Some cleaning and painting looks like the order of the day, so maybe she won't go through the whole winter.

Oh, and not bad emissions for a 15 year old 86,000 mile car either. I can guarantee there are NO cobwebs in there.

So that's that till next year.

Tony.

Tony, so there's nothing legally stopping you MOTing your own car??? OR do you have to get a colleague to do it to demonstrate impartiality??

Nice to see you got the result!!

No I test my own car Andy, there's nothing to say you can't. Some employers are a bit iffy about it but if mine said I couldn't test my own car I would be looking for a new job! It boils down simply to trust.;)

As they say "you learn something new every day":) I never knew that.
It must be nice as well to get the car up on the ramps and give it a once over. Not the fact I would know what I was looking at:nailbiting:

Your Z does look nice though and the chrome stone guards are a nice touch. I must agree though your calipers & springs are looking tatty =))

I can't argue with that assessment Andy, but I like driving it too much to take bits off to paint them, maybe when I have more free time things may change.:)

Don't think it will change Tony not if my experience is anything to go by, you'll probably be busier than ever when you retire. If I'm not doing jobs in or around the house I'm out shopping or baby sitting. The Z time has to take a back seat. Still the best job I've ever had this retirement lark though.;)
PS; the lights went through the test with very little adj at nil cost, result.

took my wifes mini to kwik fit it failed on the rear indicators not orange enough they would replace them for £12 and pass it or i can take it away and they would charge a re test fee of £17.50 when i bring it back, also had my z3 and it failed on a rear broken spring, did not ask the price for that, but did ask the question why they started charging for a retest been taking my car there for years and only now are they charging, the answer was because they can...did the z3 took it back parked it so i could tell if it got moved it passed with out moving at all, nice bit of money for bending down....oops bet that started another thread:whistle:
