After much investigation we found the problem..

Barry is happy but slightly embarrassed..

We did the head gasket on his M44 and couldn't sort the very rough running..

We looked at

Timing. No improvement
plugs. Small improvement
Coil pack
HT leads
TPS and throttle body cleaned and all vacuum hoses checked.
Each thing made a small improvement but it was still hunting at idle.

finally we heard what sounded like an air leak.

It turns out that Barry had forgotten to put back one of the gaskets on the inlet manifold. ..

replaced and she runs like a champ!

Z convoy of two yesterday ..

finally:)

It's always rewarding to get to the bottom of a problem, and the reward of a Zed convoy is the icing on the cake. Well done gentlemen!

Great news guys, well done. Missing a gasket is one thing you'll never do again - and now hopefully none of us will either;)
