Event South Downs 2024 - BMW HQ to Thruxton 5th May 2024

Well its been a long time coming and finally its back on the cards.

Breakfast meet up at the lovely BMW HQ in Farnbrough before a run through some great roads to Thruxton Race Circuit and photographs on the grid. Unfortunately due to certain restrictions placed on the use of the circuit will will not be able to do parade laps officially.

The other bad news is that Thurxton are making a charge for opening the circuit on the day. The cost for the use will mean a charge of £10 per car and I will need a minimum of 36 cars to pay for it. Yes that's right, its £300 plus good old VAT. Any moneys raised above this will be into the forum coffers.

If any under 18's are attending, I need to inform BMW in advance. Also any dietary requirements for the breakfast baps etc.

The main cafe will be open for lunch and we can also sort ourselves out for a good grid photo. It is a great opportunity as this access is not normally available to car clubs.

UPDATE 28th April 2024.

The route is attached in .pdf format. Please print if you need, and note a change in the route just north of New Alresford due to the state of the highway. The route is also on my route for SatNag owners. as BMW HQ to Thruxton Final May 2024.

Times.

09:15 - BMW HQ
09:50 - Outside of the main building, Briefing and any questions.
10:00 - First Cars leave. Please make sure you have everything you need and do not leave anything behind. ( You know who you are .. lol )
10:10 - All Zeds away from BMW HQ.

Short break on route is at Services on A303, just after you join the dual carriageway. Please make it a short stop as we need to be at Thruxton from 11:50 onwards.

When you park at Thruxton, Please obey all directions given to you by the marshalls.

Go through the main gate, across the mini roundabout and through the tunnel. Follow the layout and directions to parking over by the main blue Thurxton Centre building. Please wait by your vehicle because we need to be ready to get onto the grid for some photographs. The main cafe is inside the build building on the ground floor. Is is the building shown below.
