So I've had a flat battery last week and the battery has been on a trickle charge since the weekend, it only had 2 bars on the charger but I fitted it anyway and the car started so I've been out for a drive.
Plugged the stereo in and nothing works on it. Just the time on the screen 0100 but no buttons work.
Then when I turn the car off and remove the keys the CD slot motor keeps going on and off, which will drain the battery if I leave it in.
I've plugged in the original stereo and it works fine.
Does it sound like a wiring adaption harness issue, or the Sony stereo is knackered? I'vetried the reset button and had the battery disconnected and reconnected but nothing.

I did unplug the old 6disc changer from the boot but that shouldn't have any knock on effect.

Any one shed any light on this?? Doing my head in!!!

Also worth mentioning my car was very wet inside, inner windows soaking and water on the drivers seat.
Could the damp have got into the stereo and be messing it up?

Hi Davy, i had a similar thing ages ago and it turned out to be moisture inside the head unit.
Remove it from the car and put it near a radiator in the house, or in the airing cupboard overnight, worth a try mate as it worked on mine.

That's why I posted the further comment. After sitting confused, it's the only thing I could think of.
Will give it a go cheers for the input

Your welcome mate, or if you're impatient like me, try wafting a hair dryer on it.
