Some paint help (or clear coat)

Hi,
New to me Z has some paint blemishes that I would like to 'buff out'.
Is that even possible? I have no paint experience, but I do have a power buffer and some rubbing compound. Willing to buy what's needed to make it look better.
Basically, there are some blemished areas across the hood and a couple smaller ones on the passenger door.
What steps should I take to improve this situation?
Thanks

Difficult to see in the photos but those marks look like scuffs.

Scrape your finger nail lightly across the hood left to riight. Can you feel the scratches? If your nail snags on a scratch then it's likely too deep to 'buff' out. But if your nail slides across hardly feeling the scratches then I'd have a go by hand to start with. Cloth and rubbing compound.

There are a couple scratches that I can feel... but most of the scuffing does not snag. I have a small buffing pad and rubbing compound... I tried it in a couple places... rinsed it off and waiting for it to dry.

You'll need to give the car a good wash and decontamination with a clay bar and lubricant to ensure all contamination is removed before using your rotary or DA polisher. This will delete any additional marks from contamination on the paint when you buff it. Try a medium cutting compound with a medium pad first then a polishing compound then wax to lock it in.

Maguairs do a kit, Ultimate Paint Kit.
Compound, Polish and Wax with some pads and clothes. Also works with a DA.
It’s a good kit and most likely has all you need to sort that out.

Thank you all. I appreciate the advice. I just received my clay kit. Planning to go over the car with that this weekend.
I'm going to order the Maguairs kit also.

It's well worth the effort, enjoyable process too.
