Thanks people.. l was looking to get a cheap 'project' Z4 roaster and never thought I'd be able to afford a coupe, but by sheer fluke this one came up locally at a good price. I used to like driving my Z3 with the roof down but unfortunately my girlfriend, who has a mop of hair, hated open top driving. Things l like about the coupe are the rigidity of the body, the quiet cabin environment (but you can still hear the exhaust growl when you give it some) and the great quality sound of the stereo. Nice to drive with the windows down but if she complains the car has climate control.
I don't like the runflats but it came with one pair of brand new expensive tyres so l will prob wear them down a bit then change to convetional tyre set up next year (already got an E46 spacesaver for the boot)
The car has had some bodywork repairs, the front nearside wing isnt the best colour match and my bodyshop mate reckong the offside of the car har been resprayed although l cant see it as hard as l look. There has also been a bit of work carried out on the area around yhe grilles but l think that kind if damage is common!
But there is no rust and the car is sound and mechanically good (80k mls) and drives great.. a very useable car which l got for what l consider to be a good price which l can do up over time.
