Hi all,

I want to service my new to me Z3. Year 2000. 1.9. 89k miles.

What are the panels thoughts on best oil to use? Any additives etc bearing in mind mileage?
What are the best spark plugs for it?

Opie oils seem to be the go to guys for oil. They advised me what I could/couldn't use in my car, then I just went with the best I could afford.
I used platinum spark plugs with the 4 tips.

Get the oil filter from BMW as they include the seals that you will need.

As above Opie oils will help you out with all the correct oils for the car. They are a member here search for the thread/user and post up they will answer or give them a quick call a very quick service and very friendly.

As above for the oil.
But spark plugs depends on the engine if its an m43 (single cam) meant to be the Iridium plug fitted ( long life plug extended change interval ) the only thing about them is the price if i remember rightly i was about £52 for the 4 plugs
M44 ( twin cam ) can be fitted with 2 or 4 pin platinum plugs.

My M44 has Bosch 4 tip iridium plugs fitted .
Oil mines oil serviced at a BMW indy Specialist they use the right Castrol engine oil.
But oil is personal as other say Opie oils will give you choices.

OIL. I don't think many of us are able to make a decision on oil ---- after telling us for many years the benefits of Castrol BMW now change over to Shell because it's better . I just wonder if price had any influence in the matter
