Hi All,
Just watched the video on changing the serpentine belts. Nodzed mentioned a 'belt tool' available on eBay. What does it look like? where does it go? The job looks straightforward with the right tools....
Any particular brand of belts and are the pulley guides and tensioners replaced at the same time?
Best parts advice will be welcomed...
Ta

I will use Gates belts if I can get them. When we took the main aux. belt off Dave’s car the other Saturday to check pulley bearings I just put a 16mm deep socket on 30cm 3/8” ratchet on the Hex cast on the tensioner to release tension.

Tony.

Did I? News to me. More likely I was mentioning the tool to remove the viscous fan, I'm not aware of a belt tool.

Thanks Tony. Just need belt kit, deep breath. Fixing jet engines much easier than this🤣🤣🤣

@MartinJ , it is exactly the same principle for the aircon belt tensioner.
