Scissor lift vs Trolley jack

Bought a Z3 a couple of years ago when our other car got written off and have taken to teaching myself gradually how to look after it properly and do some of the routine maintenance, amongst other things. Next on the list is oil and filter change, to that end I need to invest in something to get the car off the ground. What I am not sure about is the best option so hoping some advise can be offered? Ultimately I want to do more than just the oil change but that is the next step for me at this point. I have done a bit of searching on the forums and this seems like a decent scissor lift to get me started, but am I just as well off with a trolley jack instead?

Thanks!

I have no experience with these tilting scissor lifts, and they look fine on youtube videos, but I can't get my head around trusting them to balance a full weight car on just a couple of rubber strips in a domestic sized garage. For a start I would want at least twice the weight capacity of the car to be lifted if I was going underneath and a better locking system than I have seen on these.
I would far prefer a trolley jack and axle stands, or wheel ramps, myself, but I like the concept and versatility of the tilting table.

I have a pair of ramps made from railway sleepers. They won't collapse. If I need to lift a corner, I use a trolley jack with one of the ramps on edge as an axle stand.

A third option is an airbag jack, you only need a small compressor. Copy and paste into ebay otherwise the link disappears.

Watched Colin fuzz on YouTube make a platform out of some 4x4 and ply and put each wheel on one thought it was a good idea, could get good ground clearance

I have a gravel drive so moving a large trolly jack is hard work, I have a small alloy jack which is great but doesn't give great lift. The air jack is lightweight and gives great clearance with the 3 bag jack.

I'll to this, the above post is mine and my zed is currently sitting on one of those lifts with no rear suspension! It does make access much easier. It helped me get the back end out in one, on my own. But, as you take bits off, it does go out of balance!
