The following will pertain to removal of the stock M-Z3 wheel. You should disconnect the battery for safety reasons and to prevent accidently setting the SRS light. Turning the ignition on with the air bag disconnected will do that. Based on what tools you have you may have to turn the ignition key on to unlock the wheel so that you can turn it to access the air bag screws on the back of the wheel that hold it in place.

1. Just behind the wheel there are two plastic pieces that
cover the steering column. There is a top and bottom
piece that snaps together in the middle. Each piece is
held in place by it being snapped together and with a
Phillips head screw on each piece. You have to remove
the bottom piece to remove the air bag/horn connector.
To remove the bottom piece unscrew the Phillips screw
and separate the bottom piece from the upper piece where
it is snapped together.
Following pics show the bottom piece and screw.

2. Remove the connector pair from where it is held in place
by rotating the air bag/horn connector pair 45 degrees
or so CCW and pulling it down a little. Once released,
unplug the connector pair by pushing the release
tab and pulling the pair apart.
See following pic which shows the connector free from
its holder and unplugged.

3. Next step is to remove the air bag. Two T30 Torx
screws hold it in place. The screws are at the back of
the wheel. The screws stay captive in the wheel.
The following pics show the back of the wheel with the
slip ring attached. It also shows the white pin on the
steering column. This pin goes in the slip ring notch.
It also shows the red pin which keeps the slip ring
from turning.
The stock wheel, since it is installed won't have the
red pin in place. The wheel in your car automatically
locks the slip ring when you remove the wheel. If you
remove the slip ring from the back of the wheel you
will need to install the red pin to keep it from
rotating.
See following pics.

4. Once the air bag screws are undone you can pull the air
bag away from the wheel. You have to hold it in place
to undo the connector pair that is held in place by
clips. Once released, unplug the connector pair by
pushing the release tab and pulling the connector pair
apart. Then place the air bag somewhere with the face
facing up. If face down it will launch the back of the
air bag if it goes off.
See following pics.

5. Now your ready to remove the wheel. A 16 mm head screw
keeps it in place. Torque value is 63 Nm. You need a
16 mm socket, 3 inch or so extension and a ratchet or
breaker bar.
Notice the marks on the wheel and the spline it is attached
to. Mark them with a sharpie. Note these marks when installing it.
You need a torque wrench that accomodates the 63 Nm
torque value for the install.

Now that is OLD school min, when you could take the nut off and run up and down the street (slowly) making adjustments till you got the wheel centralised! Those were the days.:D
