This is one of those videos you have to watch a couple of times, because it's just beyond stupidity. What gets in to the heads of drivers is beyond me...

What appears to happen is that the Peugeot takes exception to being tailgated by the van with the camera. They then think the best thing to do is to slow down and stop in the outside lane of a dual carriageway. You can just about see a hand raised through the rear window of the Pug, but not what it's gesturing.

It looks to be a 50mph zone, but it's still a heavy shunt when it happens.

There is no winner in that, and neither will learn a lesson from it. I do feel for the guy that was being tailgated [no excuse for stopping though] as it happens here all the time. I was going 110k last week and an idiot was about 2 meters behind me FFS. Eventually I was able to pull over and let him pass. Don' these fools know that we might be storing some stop stick/spikes under the Zeds like James Bond may have had?

Clue is in the title of the vid
'Cash for Crash Accident'
Don't think the music the truck driver was playing helped his concentration though.

Didn't look at the video title to be honest, the site I'd found this on made no reference to it either...

This is another one of those vids doing the rounds across a load of car sites at the moment, with the same back story. Looks like no one is paying any attention!

Well if it was a "cash for crash" accident the fact the van had a camera would resolve this and I would think the driver of the Peugot would have got a kicking from all concerned as it is clearly entirely his fault whether you think the van was tailgaiting or not. Dashcams are worth their weight in gold that is why I have one in my daily drive and will be fitting one in the wifes and probably the zed in the near future.

Three vehicles damaged/written off rather than let the van pass and report the driver to the police? He may even have had the " How's my Driving" sticker on the back. I have used these in the past.:)

Possibility but why didn't the Peugot driver pull over to the inside lane and put the hazard lights on in that case.
