Replacing a seat

I have a '99 2.3 with a very worn driver's side seat which was made significantly worse a few days ago when I left my dog in the car and he decided to gnaw on the torn bit.

As you may know, it's not easy to source a replacement seat. I found a decent one from another '99 a mere hundred miles from my home, but when I called the junk yard, it was already gone. The next one I found is 200 miles away, also in fair condition, but one small problem: it's from a 2000 model car.

Anyone out there know if these seats (1999 and 2000) are interchangeable?

NZ00Z3, thank you: that's precisely the information I needed.

My vehicle is pre-facelift. If I'm reading you correctly, I could source a seat from any tan-seated Z3 from 1995 to early 1999? This will extend my options, because my find-a-part website treats each Z3 model year separately, while with other makes and models it will give you the full range of interchangeable parts automatically.

Thank you!

Are there seats from other bimmer models that will fit into a preface-lift ('99)? Not concerned about being able to use electric motor.
