Hi,

I've noticed I have a few bulbs out on the rear centre break light.

Can anyone tell me what bulbs I need? And point me to a good instructional vid on YouTube.

Cheers

Chris

Mine never worked when i bought it turned out it was the holders were all rusted because the gasket had gone . I bought a good used whole light from spursfan and a new gasket worked a treat.
If your lucky it might be just the bulbs which are easy to buy and inexpensive but the holders are more difficult to find only BMW and expensive for what they are.

As @Tracy Dee has said I found this to be an issue too.

The gasket on the boot lid had perished when I purchased the car which let water into the rear brake light pcb as well as in the boot.

Over time the brake light pcb had corroded along with the holders.

I got some sand paper and cleaned the contacts on the pcb and purchased new holders from bmw

The holders are impossible to find anywhere else for a decent price, trust me I've spent many hours looking...

In my case the loom was also broken, however as you've said that some bulbs are working that can't be the issue.

Thanks just what I needed to know

I'll take a look tomorrow and make sure it's just the bulbs before I do anything else. I think it's just a couple that are the problem.

I'm planning on keeping up with jobs as they come along rather than letting stuff build up.

Thanks for your help

One bulb and plastic fitting required so I'll get the bits ordered and sorted at the weekend

Cheers
