Hi guys, after taking my Z4 for a service this time last year, regrettably to a non BMW specialist, I wonder if they caused a problem with the computer as immediately after the service, it had a handbrake fault, it just stopped working. When I took it to a BMW specialist, there was nothing wrong with the handbrake, they just had to reset it. Soon after the service light came and went and a few months ago I couldn't open my boot and recently had a warning light detecting a problem with the roof. I've been told that the problem with the boot and roof is the 'boot actuator' and would cost around £700.00 to fix/replace. Does this sound correct? Just want to make sure it's not a computer problem Any advice would be great thanks.

Well, there might be an issue with the locking system mounted in the boot lid. Often 1-3 wires will break over time (mostlxy on the left) and will lead to a random behaviour. These broken wires can be soldered, a complete replacement is not required. But if wanted, it costs indeed about 700€ or £ and requires half an hour to replace.
