Just wondering, purely out of interest, what the difference is between the 2.8 and 3.0 (apart from 38bhp) in terms of driveability and noticeable performance. Can the experts explain how they differ?

I'm no expert I'm afraid but I have driven both.

The 3.0 feels a lot more punchier, faster, hard to believe it's only 38bhp different.

And for me I prefer the facelift car with the haunched rear arches and later lights. Although the 2.8 did run into the facelift car so a few about.

The 3.0 is rarer and demands a bigger price.

Both great cars though.

I'm sure an expert will be along soon to explain the technical differences.

3.0 is roughly a second faster 0-60

just put a m50 manifold on the 2.8 and you are sorted ;)

Got me thinking again now. I have talked about this with @Antm72 as he had one on his old 2.8. I'm chomping at the bit again now. :arghh:

The M50 manifold job is well worth doing it. Did it on my first 2.8 really frees up the engine making it more responsive and pull harder
