Hi Suzi and welcome from me. On the latch there is a grub screw that you can un loosen a few turns, from memory requires an Allen key then you can unwind the hook part a turn at a time to achieve your desired result but I’m sure over a few weeks it will loosen off naturally as the new hood beds in. Where are you based? You can add the extra info in your profile as if you don’t have the tools I’m sure a fellow Zedder will help out, I’m in Oxfordshire and would be happy to assist if your near me. Also any pics to share? You can easily do if your comfortable by clicking the attach files icon and upload from your device.

Hi Althulas. Thanks for your suggestion. I will give that a try--after I find a very strong person who can release the latch! I've had the top for several months now, so the problem is not that the top hasn't "broken in" yet.
I'm in Northern California--San Francisco Bay Area--a bit far away from Oxfordshire. ;-)
As for pics, I've added one to my avatar. As it suggests, I use "Bugsy" to carry all sorts of things.
