True story, sadly.

This morning, going to work, stopped at a red light to go straight on, with the red light next to me to turn left on as well.
I look in my mirrors and see a car barreling down on me, I closed my eyes and waited for the kick up the back side.
It never happened.....
This car (Volkswagen Polo) with two (for better use of words) kids in it, passed me on the left, went straight through the red light then veered to the right and went straight on, just missing two cyclists.

Hit a traffic jam, so take a short cut down a one way street to meet a car coming the other way (I am driving the right way down the one way street) and I get forced up on to the pavement.

Get close to work and nearly get taken out by an articulated lorry, driver was on the mobile.....

Glad to get to work and park up, all of this within 10 kilometers.

Time to go home.

On the way, I think, why not stop at a friends work shop for a quick chat, so drive in that direction.
Just before I get to his place of work, I see a car coming from the right ( I have right of way) and I think, they aint gonna stop, so slam on the anchors.
The driver did not even look left or right.

Get to my buddy's and I am informed that he is not there but will be shortly. So I decide to wait for him.

He duly arrives and reverses his Mercedes Vito van in to the left front side of my Z just above the wheel.

One well knackered bonnet......

Photos will follow.

Thanks every one, that is honestly the way it went today, very weird, car seemed like a magnet.

Lucky, obviously not, that when it did get hit, it was by one of my mates.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I know how you feel. It is surprising what repairs they can do with body panels these days, I thought mine was knackered after I got hit with the side window on the motorway but they managed to repair the damage to the bonnet and it really does look like new you cannot see a thing on it.

Mate!

Really sorry to hear that!

As you know my car had a disagreement with a deer recently and it hurt me more than the deer or bonnet, I was gutted!

Only up side is you have the perfect opportunity to get the car looking perfect again ......... Or even better buy that coupe you want?

Best of luck with it, let the clappers hang!

Thanks spurs and Gill, yes, I am really hissed off.
My mate is going to rectify the situation through his insurance, might try and push for a carbon fiber bonnet..... ;)
