Just about to give the 2.2 a flush and some new blood. I'm going with fully synthetic again even though it's been using a little.

Any quick tips on areas I should be looking to clean? Pipes, hoses etc

I'll report back later for anyone interested.

Just get it good and hot (careful not to scald yourself) and leave it to drain for as long as you can.

Give it a good run to get it hot as Tony says! That stirs up any contaminates present so they flow out with the old oil. Good luck! JIM

All done. Not much sludge but definitely some thicker goo lying on the bottom of the drainage bucket. Filter was pretty clean so I imagine there hasn't been many miles since the last oil change. At least I know it's all nice and clean now.

That's the good news, the bad news is that I have an oil leak but bugger if I can find out where it's coming from. It's well below the head line on the right front/mid - the wetness and fresher stuff is on the side of the alloy case bottom right below the air boxes - right where you can't see a thing!

Any hints people?

With a cooled engine get yourself an aerosol of brake cleaner and use it to remove all the old oil then run it and watch where it comes from, using a light and small mirror if need be.
