I had two. The 3.0 Ghia and before that a rare 2.1 S pinto, ex German forces car. They were both fantastic cars. Loved them!

I almost bought one from a local trader in the late 80's it had a 2.0 V6 Cologne motor and ran great and wasn't in bad nick but a mate who worked in Johnsons (Ford) parts told me it was a nightmare to get bits from Germany for that engine so in the end I found myself a 2.8 Ghia Grandad.

Had one of those too although mine was just a GL. Still a beautiful car to drive. Was my first Auto.

Ford MK IV 3.0 V6 Essex engined monster. Referred to by my father as the Bismarck.. It had that silver that faded to grey and looked like a battleship alright. Loved it though.

I just grabbed this from Google. This is almost the same as my little zodiac lol... And a photo to show you how much room you had in the engine bay. Yes that's a full sized spare.

Thought so what a tank, they looked like a MK2 Cortina on steroids!. I had a Consul with the 2.0 V4 Transit engine in it, acres of space in front of the engine. There have been some right monsters.;)

Better known as the "Dagenham Dustbin"
When we were kids a neighbour promised to take us to Bobbington Airfield to see the airshow. We didn't even get off the housing estate =))
Not in the Zephyr anyway, we all piled into an old A35 van and went in that.
