This was in todays Anglia Classic Car auction today in Kings Lynn - '99 Z3M - 51k miles - guide price was £17000 - £19000. Had to come away before it came up so I don't know what the hammer price was, but the results will be online shortly.
There was also a fairly tatty '76 3.0 CSL that had a guide price of £90000-£120000 !!!! - wonder what that went for?

Bet it still needs a fortune spent on it, suspension, vanos, bushes etc etc, low mileage means nothing if its all original, it will all need replacing to make it good.

Well I've bought two ///Ms and on both everything perishable/ wearable was original and needed replacing but I didn't spent the silly money that some of these are going for, regardless of mileage that car is 19 years old, if there is history showing upgrades / replacement then great, if not its worth 13k absolute tops IMO. People get hung up on low mileage, this does not mean a great car, it just means low mileage, I've said this before I would rather buy a higher mileage Zed from a enthusiast that has loved it and spent money on it and treated it to the replacement parts it needs, than a low mileage Zed that was getting on for 20 yrs old and had nothing replaced. Low mileage is nothing more than a status symbol IMO that is worthless if the car isn't right. ... just because its low mileage. Point of fact I went to look at a 27k miles ///M last year (mileage verified) and it was not a patch, not even close to the standard of my 106k ///M.

... buyer beware it could cost you an extra 3k on top of a 17k to 19k ///M and the same is true for any Zed don't worry about the mileage look at the history. There are cars owned on this forum with over 100k on the clock that I would pay good money to own because they have cherished them and spent the necessary money on. (Sorry for the rant)

I now regret mentioning the mileage as it's caused this 'rant' - but I do agree with what you have said.
(Note to self: Think very carefully before posting anything else! :banghead: )

No sorry mate not having a poke at you its just the prices for these low mileage Zeds drives me nuts when there's a fair chance they are not anywhere as good as higher mileage ones for sale..

replace the perishables and you have a good, low mileage car.

however well you care for a high mileage car, it will always be high mileage and can never be low mileage again. To many that will add value and cache, "mines lower that yours!" The harsh reality is, it is relevant to many, but it risks not being driven as it should to retain its low mileage status.

BTW, I wouldn't mind betting "mines higher than yours!" (144,500).

@Richard Howard keep posting!

I normally get to Kings Lynn for the auctions @Richard Howard but couldn't this time. There's always some interesting cars around - normally outside my price range though (but then again I am a tight git)! Hope you enjoyed it........

The Z3M Roadster was sold for £21,000 - the '76 3.0CSL also in the auction did not reach it's estimate of £90-£120K & therefore did not sell,not surprised at it was a bit rough. Some very odd prices were being reached, for example a '91 Honda CRX V-Tec for £19,425 albeit with only 15K miles on the clock.

@Richard Howard in your first photo, is that an E30 M3 behind the Z3M? did you see what that made?

Hi mate - yes it was & it sold for £34,650. Imported LHD car, engine changed in 2007, exact mileage was a bit dubious as it was changed to match replacement engine & odo now shows 162k kms but they reckon car had done 202k kms. That aside it was a tidy car.
