Noises, noises everywhere

Hi all, since I had my coilovers fitted about 5 months ago I've had a clunk type noise coming from the boot area. I've checked countless times underneath the car and can't seem to find anything wrong. All spot welds are perfect too. I'd say about 6/10 times it does it either when I move from a standstill or if i'm in 2nd or 3rd and I change down to 1st gently. I could only describe it as a dull thud like as if something is stuck and becomes free? My initial thought was the handbrake mechanism but i had it all rebuilt not long ago. I also have a rattle/clicking type noise on the driver's side rear wheel well but this happens when I drive over rough roads or again, moving from a standstill. This just sounds like a clicking/creaking noise. If anything it sounds like as if a marble is rattling about against the metal under the carpet next to the shock mounts. Sorry for being vague but these noises are driving me nuts and i'm wondering if anyone else is or has experienced these things during their zed ownership? Thanks

Sounds like a combination of issues. The clunk noise could be the lack of washers on the shock bolt that goes into the swing arm. Quite a few aftermarket shocks are narrower and allow the shock to move.

Did you replace the rear top mounts?

The rattling I'm guessing would be the hand brake mechanism inside the rear hub.

Give you something to start looking at.

You can pull the parking brake on a little to tension the cables and if the rattle stops you have found that one. Is the diff. eye bush good?

I replaced the rear shocks with Bilstein B4's recently too + the mounts. I did also notice that the left side handbrake cable is loose (where it goes into the hub backing plate) but the right one is fine

I had a rear anti roll bar linkage pop off which gave a clunk under similar conditions .

also see article on petrol tank rattle in resources
Tried knocking the tank with a hammer but can't seem to find any noises so I'm assuming the tank is fine. The clicking noise seems to be coming from the trailing arm area. Almost like something is tapping on the trailing arm
