Hi all
(Z3 1.9 1997)
Couple of weeks ago, drivers side brake seized whilst on a short drive. Got The Lady home and with the help of an online video and my Bro-in-law, successfully removed the callipers, rubbed down and lubed the pistons, freeing the brake and providing trouble free motoring once again.
It was suggested I also do the passenger side brake.
This evening, having jacked the car up, taken the wheel off and the spring retainer clip, the VERY SAME size 7 hex nut ‘slips’ in both the top and bottom calliper release things (apologies, not sure of the proper name).
Really frustrating as the original fix on the drivers side was simple to do.
Does anyone know of any tricks to sort this, and/ or have you had the same issue. Was starting the think BMW were playing a trick on me by putting slightly different sizes on the car!!!
I’ve tried a size 8, but too big.
Thanks in advance.
Jonathan
