I did book in at the Swansea fitters for £600 new roof job but added up as not a great saving.
It was 4hrs south on a good run, 220 miles, 4 hrs fit then same return.
Fuel, miles and time just didnt save me much, maybe £200, no way was I going tootle through Wales in 3.0 Z3 😂
More so, Stockport is half hr away for any issues that might arise, Swansea return trip !!, no ta..

Your roof has the vents and mine has the exact same pattern on the inside of the roof that the original manufacturer’s roof had. Very good quality delivered by Paul at The Soft Top Shop who genuinely cares about doing an excellent job. I’d recommend him any day.

Tootling along at 20 mph in Wales, or 50 on the motorway. No annoying at all

I was in Wales yesterday on the bike, blip to Lake Bala then over to Wem (Pic)

, A49 home bound.
Good day out. 1 speed van in Cheshire was all i saw, 20's were only short distances and looking I'd say most locals ignore it.
All about where and when on the speed, B roads over A roads are more favourable these days.

Looking forward to taking the Z3 out there soon .

We used Swansea as it’s an easy round trip from Bristol and had great feedback on the forum.
The roof itself wasn’t too bad but the rear window surround had disintegrated and a genuine zip in replacement now costs £150 more than the last one I purchased for an old 2.8!

Jeez, thats disappointing.
My rear window is fixed and sealed which sounds better IMO.

I was advised by Paul at Stockport to put a soft cloth EITHER side of the screen when folding away to prevent permanent creases when folding away, definitely doing so.

Sheffield Trimming (Bielawskis) replaced the rear screen in my hood for £350 all in including repairing a bit of bad stitching here and there. I wanted to retain the original factory roof.

Paul told me this, too. Works a treat at protecting the window.
