I love my old Escorts. So liked finding this out.

But are they really Mk 2 Escorts anymore? Or just something that looks like one?

They will have better engine's plus no metal bumpers. They will have to pass a modern crash test and have airbags etc. Still they might look good. I like the new fiat 500s. I'm wasn't keen on the new beetle or mini. I have changed my mind about the new mini. I had a mk2 escort van it was terrible

Technology and legislation has changed so much, so whilst they may look the same, they'll be inherently different.

Massive old Ford fan owning many in my mate teens and early twenties.
I hate to say it but legislation will never allow it to be what it was and should still be. I can't see how they will even get away with the square front end due to the pedestrian safety markers. We will see.
