Hi
I'm new to this site, bought a 1997 Z3 2.8 a couple of weeks ago and enjoying the ride.
My car has only 44k on the clock and looks like it just came out of the showroom.
But all is not perfect in my Z3World, the drivers seat moves a little, I have checked out the bushings fix on the How to articles so I bought the bushings from a chap in the good ol USA but when I took the seat off it was different to the one I thought it should have, no T50 bolt holding everything together and the runners were solid so I need to recheck where the movement is, Anyone got any ideas.
The second fault is on the clutch pedal where is a spring type noise occasionally when I use the clutch.
Any help appreciated.
Big Al

First of all welcome to zroadster.org it sounds like you have found a peach of a Z3.

It's a shame you have gone to the expense of getting your seat bushes from USA as I can supply these much cheaper (click the link in my sig). Can you take a picture of your seat runners as itis difficult to visulise what you are describing, I presume when you say you have looked at the "How to" you mean this one;

http://zroadster.org/wiki/bmw-z3/ma...verhaul/how-to-fix-your-bmw-z3-rocking-seats/

The T50 bolts are only visable when you have the seat out of the car and turn it on its side so you can see the underside of the runners. Try and get some photo's up and I am sure we will be able to advise you.:)

Hi Aceman
Thanks for that, after reading the How to again I realised my error and redid the job by releasing the rear bolts first then the front bolts and all became clear. I will check your link for parts when I need something. I am thinking of installing a Strut brace and a butt brace, any ideas for suppliers of these.
Regards
Big Al ps will post pics after this weekend.

Strong Strut are the only people that do a but strut as far as I am aware and their front strut braces are regarded as the best you can buy you have to pay a price for thst though just ad you do with most things in life. I managed to get one off ebay cheap but they are very rare on the second hand market. If you order direct from them you will have to pay import duties as they are State side based, not sure if there are any uk stockists but you could try CA Automotive who seem to import most performance goodies.

Hi Al and welcome to the forum

Having just changed our 2.2 Z3 for a Z4, I have a Sparco strut brace for sale which will fit your 2.8.
It's already advertised here at £100 + p&p
