I've never ran a BMW as a daily only ever had the Z3 and now the Z4. I've tended to have Mercs in the past but after some hunting around settled to this. I have to say, I am seriously impressed with it six weeks in. It has the edge over my last E class for sure. Fingers crossed it has the reliability of the Zeds!

It's lovely mate, I've had a remap done just to get a few more horses and torques out of it to help when towing the caravan. It really is silky smooth 👌

Shirl's could probably use that too.

I know the GT (or hatchback) aren't BMW's most popular models, but I can see the attraction. I bet it has more space inside than my tiny F31 3 series estate, sorry, 'touring'.

I have the same gen 5-series touring and it is the best car I've owned. I've had it 2.5yrs now and it still puts a smile on my face when I drive it 🥰

They never really took off as they are in essence a hatchback and BMW buyers weren't keen. It's huge, larger internally and externally than my XC90 was as it's actually a 7 series chassis.

They make remarkable value for money, we looked at the tourer which is bang on but was a tad light for the caravan. The GT is actually based in a 7 series chassis so is longer and 300kg heavier.

It's a cracking engine but just wanted a bit more unmph for towing. We originally wanted the 530d but couldn't get one that hadn't been hammered. The remap has added 80tq and 40bhp so has made the difference I was after.
