Hi Guys,

I need some advise!

The dutch Eurorun to Scotland ends on the Sunday morning 10 July in the area Glasgow.
I have the ferry in Newcastle on the Monday afternoon 15:00 - 11 July. So I have 1,5 day left and 1 hotel to book in the area Newcastle.

Any suggestions what to do?
First I was thinking About a touristic route to Newcastle and book a hotel in Newcastle.
But the hotels in Newcastle are VERY expensive.

One option could be to travel down to the Lake District for a drive around the sights and stop in a Premier Inn for the night. Depending on where you stay the drive to Newcastle is only about 2 hours.

Hi Andy,
I am doing the Lake District before the week in Scotland. My route is via Wales (Chester) doing Lake District going up North (Lancaster) and then meeting up with the rest in the area Glasgow

You could always take in the Kielder Forest en-route to Newcastle

I dont have the routes yet, I am not the organiser. I will let you know when I have them . Its the first week of July, I wrote June in my topic buts Its July. I change it

If I were you I would spend the time along the coast north of Newcastle, Northumberland has some beautiful coastline

Durham is one of the best cities in the UK, and is very close to Newcastle. The cathedral in Durham is a world heritage site, and the surrounding countryside is wonderful.
