How bizarre. Cars have always had some sort of scrap value, why would anyone want to do that?

Weird indeed.
Sounds like a joy-riders car-park. I'd check anybody who lives close that used to do nights out in Aberystwyth. Who lives near then?

I'm guessing when you wanted to scarp a car back in the 70's you would have to pay and as a result find somewhere to hide it

Maybe someone was taking money to dispose of cars and then just dropping them down a hole in the ground. Now, thats a decent business model!

I wasn't going to say that - I might want to hire his place =))
Your OK I think unlike some of the comments posted at the bottom of the news report......:D

Why so many mean comments about the welsh?
Can't blame Thatcher for that can you?
Wales is a Dump, only alcoholic losers live in wales, especially in Merthyr and this car dumping ground is where the welsh drunks drove into.
Ah the welsh are a strange breed.
What a grim depressing place.
Why give the insignificant blight on the landscape known as Wales any airtime or print space whatsoever? They are miserable, angry and ungrateful.
Standard Newport car park really. Nothing to see here..
It's the annual Welsh Transformers convenesion.
Strange things always happen in Wales!
How do we know some Welsh sheep sh..gers havent been hiding out in the hills for a while it looks like a scene from the Texan chainsaw massacre to me.
What do you expect? It's the Welsh!
Perhaps it's the remains of the RAC Rally, 1961, the one where every car mysteriously vanished in Wales... it was hushed-up at the time, obviously...
That's what happens when you speak to "Gethin "magic your car away" Jones who can make your car disappear for a price of a small sheep.

Aaah ! Think I may have found my Austin Allegro.
The long lost British Leyland Research & Development facility finally found!
Have they listed a handbrake assembly for a 74 Escort....need one urgently for a re-build project.
The only miners down that mine now are morris miners! (sorry)

Looks to me like your average multi storey car park in Cambridge, except the parking prices a much, much higher in Cambridge.

Are caves different in Wales? That looks like a hole in the ground rather than a cave.
Perhaps someone can clear up the difference!
