Thanks for the comments ,we had an almost identical Z3 years ago which by coincidence I spotted for sale on Autotrader a few months ago. As I said my current Z3 seems perfect mechanically, runs smoothly and has a nice tight gearbox. I had to replace the bushes on both seats as they were worn which I think is a common problem I have also fitted chrome grills and a Zunsport lower grille. The bodywork was very sound no rust but parking dings on drivers side and generally faded in places due to being left out in the sun whilst it was in Spain. I have attached some pictures of the painting and body repair process. I may buy a hardtop at some point but am surprised how expensive they are , I managed to get one for my Porsche Boxster which I also run for a modest £320.00 in the correct colour, my Z3 has the fitting kit and heated rear window switch already fitted. The only downside is the previous owner had lost the service history which is a shame ,there are some invoices for repairs and servicing and old mots but sadly no service book. The Z3 still has the supplying BMW dealers sticker on windscreen so was wondering if they may have some servicing details ….We shall see !
