Do the arm Mike and save yourself some hassle. I did both mine last year

It's tempting, I have changed a few on E30 and E46 but I like a challenge. :)

You just need access to a standard workshop press. I bought Meyle Heavy Duty joints from BM Motormec, they didn't cost much and pressed the old out and new in. Least you know you've still got proper arms fitted.

New 13 month MOT today, one advisory, slight wear in front LH ball joint. Question is do I replace the arm which is easy, or attempt the ball joint. I must investigate the tool.
Mike, @Antm72 bought a tool to do these a little while ago.

Tony.

Good news Mike. I'd do the arm then it's done.

The tool and the balljoint were less than half the price of an arm and now I can just replace balljoints when necessary. I don't know how long the Lemforder ones last but they are a reputable make and cheap enough to make it worth trying. :)

I just got a pair of Lemforder wishbones for the Imola at £134 the pair & the BMW ones I fitted to the Titan were nearly 3 times that cost so my theory is if they only last half as long its still cheaper :D

I did the same and was of the same view the inner ball joints don't normally fail but the tool can press out both.
Its a no brainer on the money side
