I have successfully fitted a MOMO flat bottomed steering wheel, No airbag of course but the horn button is remotely operated via a unit mounted on the wheel with the receiver behind the Radio all wired so its easy to replace original for MOT test It makes a fantastic difference to the feel of the car and easier for me to get in & out 1 happy chappy Rocket Ron.

Hi I,m not good with pics but will try later! Airbag light + 3 ohm resistor across the circuit = MOT Its quick & easy to refit original steering wheel & Airbag, the light will work but the airbag wont ( that cant be tested anyway) Happy motoring Ron

Which steering hub did you guys get?
Will still need the hub to fit my race steering wheel.

Was also looking at removable hubs.
But then you always have the rack to the racing hub (6 bolts flange) and then the removable hub on top of that. Never found it directly in 1 piece.

Did the same on mine
Hi how did you get the horn to work? With Part Number 32311158475 ? I,m still waiting for this to arrive, meanwhile My remote system is OK Ive stuck the button on to a spoke of the wheel with Bluetack My biggest difficulty was picking up the connections for the horn in the plug under the wheel ( 2 very small pins ) I found a plug in my junk box( always handy) I didnt want to permanently alter the existing wiring

Hi It must be a different system on the M coupe it doesnt have a slip ring on the original wheel only a coil inside the Airbag unit, Just My luck but I have had to rely on Skill & experience to solve this problem LOL the new hub does have a slip ring but there is no brush to make contact .
I have tried to order the part ,Keeping my fingers crossed

I'm sure you'll get it sorted :) when I was looking for a hub I found there are a lot of different types, took a while to find the correct one.

I suppose that is a non-removable hub?
Absolutely not It is held on via the same bolt as the original Airbag hub/Wheel! Ive modified the wiring a little to accommodate a remote relay Which should be a non latching type but everything is easily & quickly reversible for MOT Tests the airbag light operates as it should & the air bag operation can be re installed if required Simples ! Maybe 1 hour tops for the whole conversion & 1 hour to reinstall the bypass & new wheel with the remote button on it after the test

As my car is a trackday only car, I don't care for the airbags (useless with 4-5&6-point harnasses) or for MOT.
But removable would be nice.
