Its written as a bit of an advert tbh, but there are genuine views in here. Worth considering.

And another thing - if you have told your Insurer about a list of mods and it does get written off, then Hey ! Dont forget to include the value of my stubby aerial please . . . (I know thats a bit of a facetious remark, but you get my point).

That's a good read, regardless of it being more of an "advertorial" - I'm sure a few forum users will have to rethink their mods.

I ran lowered cars and changed alloy wheels for years until a potential insurer asked if my wheels had been changed and I said yes. I then told him about the lowering springs and the addition of a subwoofer thinking i'd be more out of pocket and he surprised me by saying they was no bump in premium for these declared mods.

If in doubt, declare everything - the worst case scenario is you write your car off in an accident and someone else's and your insurance is invalid, you will enter a whole world of hurt, and no-one wants that.
